Introducing our First API

An API is like a set of rules that allows different software applications to talk to each other.

Imagine a restaurant. You, the customer, are like an application. The menu is like the API, it lists all the things you can order. The waiter is like the interface that takes your order (request) and brings you your food (response).

So, an API helps one program request something from another program and get a response back in a way that both understand.

Currently, we only support frameworks within the United States (FDA, GRAS, FEMA), Canada, the European Union and the UK. However, we are actively working to expand our support to include additional frameworks in the near future.

Through authentication (verifying identity) and authorization (granting permissions).

Restricting the number of requests a client can make within a certain time frame to prevent abuse.
